New Parent Fall Huddle: A Community Building Event

Sleep-deprived? Feeling overwhelmed? Isolated? Welcome to parenthood! You are not alone – and we want to prove it by bringing together parents of babies to share in this profound experience together.

This one-time, 90 minute group session will be led by Andrew Gordon-Kirsch and Sarah Dobkin, new parent support group facilitators and parents of young children themselves. During the session everyone will have a chance to:

  • Connect with other parents with similar aged babies

  • Share experiences and gain valuable insights about this stage of life

  • Ask and answer questions about anything parenting

All About Andrew

Andrew is an experienced facilitator and a new dad. When he became a father, he found himself yearning for a community where he could openly discuss his joys, fears, and doubts. It was during these moments of vulnerability that he recognized the need for a support group that could offer empathy, guidance, and a sense of belonging. In hosting his support groups for dads, he combines curiosity as a new parent with expertise in facilitation, group dynamics, and men's work to hold space for dads to navigate challenges, celebrate triumphs, and learn from one another's experiences.

all about sarah

Besides the experience and training she has gained from being a mom to twins, Sarah has worked with young children and their parents and caregivers for over 15 years. In her work, she aims to join her experience and knowledge of infants and mental health with parents’ experience and knowledge of their own children, all blended together with an openness to any and all “right” answers and a good amount of humor. Prior to beginning her own private psychotherapy practice, Sarah worked as an early childhood mental health consultant supporting early care and education providers and as a director of an early childhood program at a non-profit in San Mateo County. She is certified by Postpartum Support International in Perinatal Mental Health.
